As the news that Environment Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, who previously served as health minister, has resigned, many have taken to social media to speculate as to when he will be reappointed.
Keheliya Rambukwella was arrested on Friday for alleged involvement in the procurement of counterfeit intravenous human immunoglobulin, which is used to help fight infections and cancer. He was ordered held for investigation until February 15th and as soon as he was arrested, he fell ill and was admitted to the prison hospital.
Social media activist Quarrying as to when he will be reappointed is not without reason.
Nimal Siripala de Silva, who resigned after bribery charges from the Japanese, was once again sworn in as the Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation before President Ranil Wickramasinha.
A three-member commission was appointed following the allegation, which handed over a report that was not seen by the public or media. Resigning to return has become a common practice within Sri Lankan politics.
The former minister has rquested the Speaker Mahinada Yapa Abeywardhana to make arrangements to attend parliment. Permission has been graned and back seat is been prepared for the parlimentarian .
