Sri Lanka Thriposha Ltd, the producers of the nutritional supplement have confirmed that the Thriposha currently distributed is safe to consume. The company said that no Aflatoxin chemical is present in excess of the prescribed amount in Triposha distributed in the market.
Thriposha Ltd Chairman Deepthi Kularathna said that it has not been confirmed that Triposha contains more than the prescribed amount of carcinogen Aflatoxin.
“This is a fabricated story to spread fear among mothers.
“These kinds of fake statements will bring down the mentality of mothers in the current economic and food shortage situation in the country,”
he said.
Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said in Parliament yesterday that an investigation is currently going on with regard to the quality of Thriposha.
The minister said this in reply to a question by Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Hesha Withanage.
