Tharshan moved to France in 2006. Four years ago he turned his passion into a business by becoming the owner of his own bakery – Au Levain des Pyrénées boulangerie.
He was selected from 175 candidates in a blind taste before being announced as the winner of the 30th annual award. The winner is awarded a prize fund of 4,000 euros and a year-long contract to supply baguettes to the president of France at the Élysée Palace.
