Colombo High Court today ordered to release Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena is among several politicians who been acquitted from the charges filed by the Bribery Commission.
State Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena was charged of the unlawful acquisition of assets estimated at Rs.41.1 million. The Minister was said to be unable to account for the assets he held.
The order was issued after the Bribery Commission had informed court that it does not wish to continue with the case.
Colombo High Court judge Aditya Patabandige issued an order today to release Minster Abeygunawardena from the case.
