Maithri in the Spotlight Once again

maithripala sirisena

Former President Maithripala Sirisena who has been named in the Presidential Commission on the Easter Bombing is n the spotlight as the opposition and the Catholic church is pushing for prosecution of those who have been named.

Parliamentarian Sarath Fonseka making a hard thing speech in when the presidential commission report was taken for debate said that it’s hard to believe that Maithripala Sirisena was totally ignorant of the attack and the former head of state did not immediately return from Singapore after the strike.

Opposition Parliamentarian Kavinda Jayawardena said that the government is dragging its foot on the commission recommendations as they have to protect Sirisena because the government would lose its two-thirds majority in Parliament as the Sri Lanka Freedom Party under former President and would leave the governing coalition if he s prosecuted.
