Four cricketers representing the Sri Lankan national team have been recruited into the Sri Lanka Police Service.
In a ceremony held in Colombo, the letters of appointment were presented to the players concerned, and the event was attended by the Minister of Public Security,. Tiran Alas, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Deshbandu Tennakoon.
Chamara Silva, who represented the Sri Lankan national cricket team previously, and Kusal Janith Perera, who is currently playing for the national team, were appointed as Chief Police Inspectors, and Nuvan Pradeep and Ashen Bandara were recruited into the Sri Lankan Police Service as Police Inspectors.
Crickerts joining the Srilankan cricket team is not new, many other policemen have represented the Sri Lanka Cricket team but in this instance, Crickerters have joined the Police after first playing for Sri Lanka.
