Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment, Manusha Nanayakkara, has announced that the government is set to initiate a program aimed at granting two acres of land to returning migrant workers in the agro-industrial sector. Collaborating with the Ministry of Lands, this initiative is designed to foster the development of these migrant workers into agricultural entrepreneurs.
The minister conveyed this information during his participation in a program held on January 1st at the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau. Emphasizing the significance of the program, he highlighted that it is geared towards empowering individuals to apply the knowledge acquired during their overseas work experiences directly to the local agricultural industry.
