By Former Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella who was refused bail at the Magistrates court has now moved his application for bail to the Colombo High Court.
He was told by the Maligakanda Magistrate Lochana Abeywickrama that bail will not be granted until the end of the trial. Also the points made by the
Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella’s lawyer Anuja Premaratna was dismissed by the Magistrate. It was observed by the Magistrate that the suspects of this case are very much linked to each other.
The bail application filed by former Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella to the high court has been fixed for Monday, March 18, 2024.
Rambukwella states that the magistrate’s decision to reject the bail requests of those remanded under the Public Property Act is against the law. is not good in law
Rambukwella and others have been implicated in the case regarding the importation of substandard Immunoglobulin vaccines.
