Sri Lanka had 20,573 tourists within the first two weeks of October. According to the Tourist Development Authority (SLTDA), the majority of tourist has arrived from India accounting for 20% of the total arrivals.
The Russian Federation is a close second with 14% of the total tourist traffic. , while the UK is third with, 10% of the total arrivals.
Sri Lanka has an official target of closing the year 2022 with one million tourists. However, the Tourism Ministry said it is very likely for the year to end with about 800,000 visitors.
Meanwhile, soft liquor licenses have been issued to all the tourist accommodation & service providers registered with SLTDA.
