By The leader of the Tamil People’s National Front, Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, has urged Tamils to boycott the next Sri Lankan presidential election and show their distrust in the electoral system.
Ponnambalam has said that voting at the presidential election will be tantamount to accepting the system.
The TNPF’s leader’s position is in sharp contrast to the leader of the Tamil Makkal Thesiya Kuttani (TMTK) party, retired Supreme Court Justice C.V. Protest against Ranil
The police arrested three people who protested while President Ranil Wickremesinghe was visiting Jaffna.Earlier, the police had obtained a court order against demonstrations scheduled to be held in Jaffna.
