There are four other countries in the world that have higher food prices than Sri Lanka .
In Lebanon, Zimbabwe, Venezuela, and Turkey the food prices are higher than in
Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka a country with a food price inflation of reached 80 percent, ranked 5th among the 10 countries with the highest food price inflation.
The data has been researched by the world bank.
The countries just behind Sri Lanka are Iran, Argentina, Suriname, Ethiopia and Moldova.
The World Bank said that the war in Ukraine, supply chain disruptions, and the continued economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic are reversing years of development gains and pushing food prices in most countries.
