The Chinese embassy has warned that a fake entry ticket to enter the Lotus tower is in circulation.
An image of a fake ticket posted on social media says that free entrance to Sri Lankan parliamentarians and Chinese nationals with valid passports will be granted.
The Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka tweeted Wednesday morning that the ticket was “forged” and asked users to verify before tweeting. However, the embassy thanked the mischief makers, “thanks for the free publicity though”.
Head of the Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company Major General (Retired) Prasad Samarasinghe announced that the first stage of the tower will be declared open on Thursday, the 15th of September 2022.
Samarasinghe said,
“the observation deck and a few areas in the tower will be open to the public.”
Stating that the tower will be open from 2 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and 12 pm to 11 pm on weekends, he said
“tickets will be priced at Rs. 2000 and Rs. 500 to enter the tower, while it will also be open for school tours at a special rate.”
According to the management’s plan, the second stage of the Lotus Tower will be declared open in another 2 months and will include the opening of e-sports centers, a digital museum, etc.
The third stage of the tower is set to be ready by March next year and will include the opening of a 9D cinema and a revolving restaurant.
