SRI Lanka is looking forward to joining the Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States Sri Lanka’s Presidential Envoy to Europe and the Commonwealth, Niranjan de Silva Deva Aditya (Nirj Deva), is lobbying on behalf of Sri Lanka and said that in order to be successful the country needs to fulfill certain obligations.
“Some of these requirements are taking part in the International Criminal Court (Rome Statute), protecting people with disabilities, getting rid of the death penalty, and making it legal for adults to be LGBT.”
Said Niranjan de Silva Deva Aditya It is not clear if the current ruling alliance would want to take part in the International Criminal Court process.
