“Common minimum programme” .
He accused Sajith Premadasa of weakening the SJB party and driving away supporters.Champika Ranawaka claimed that the party is controlled by two unnamed individuals besides Premadasa.
“He (Premadasa) simply thinks he is going to win the presidential election. He does not realise the enormous damage he is causing. There are key members who are not happy but are patient. His late father, President Ranasinghe Premadasa, was more understanding and did not talk from a high pedestal. He mingled with all,” Champika pointed out.
The event was held at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Centre. and Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and Ferial Ashraff were in the audience.
The SJB Party General Secretary Ranjith Madumma Bandara was also in the audience and Sajith Premadasa has so far not commented on the accusations.
It is very likely that Champika Ranawaka will move away from the SJB or be a independent group within the SJB .It is rumoured that Campika Ranawaka is among the Presidential candidates.
Key proposals of the common minimum programme include auctioning luxury vehicles of officials, establishing a commission for economic crimes, and confiscating hidden wealth.
