By The Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC)is known as a party that moves on with who ever is in power. THE Leader of the CWC has pledged is support to Ranil Wickramasinha .
In recent media interview he said that providing land to estate workers is very much appreciated. Currently a programme to provide land for plantation is underway and the CWC political wing is very much involved in the process.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has also suggested to raise minimum wage of plantation workers to 1,700 rupees as requested by them.
The plantation workers are very much divided among the different political parties that have emerged within the two decades. The CWC has somewhat lost its dominance but the land allocation programme has given the party a life line and it is not a surprise that Jeevan Thondaman plans to support Ranil Wickramsinha’s Presidential aspirations ,even for the time being.
